How it works

audiolaz runs on any computer on your network. Your phone does the measuring, and nothing else moves.

01 Set up
Pick the zone. Stand the phone where you sit, at ear height.

Three short measurements: your seat, a little left, a little right. A bad one is refused on the spot, and says why.

04 Load it into Roon
From an iPad or a computer: zone, MUSE, Convolution. Where audiolaz can reach your Core, it does it for you.
One filter per sample rate, 44.1 up to 384 kHz, so Roon never resamples one.
What you need
Less than you think.
Roon
Any Core with MUSE. You authorise audiolaz once, in Settings.
A phone
iPhone or Android, in the browser. The only thing that moves from room to room.
A computer
Mac, Windows, Linux, a NAS, a Raspberry Pi. It does not have to stay on.
Optional: a UMIK
A calibrated microphone reads the bass and treble more accurately. Without one, the phone still measures — audiolaz just corrects more cautiously.
Before you pay
Measuring your room and reading its score are free. Where audiolaz can install the filter in your Core itself, you also get 24 hours of listening — then it takes it back out. A Nucleus or a ROCK does not allow that; the refund covers you instead.

Damp your room
A bass note that rings for a second and a half keeps ringing. Electronics remove energy; they do not absorb it.
Fill a null
Where two paths cancel at your seat, boosting only heats the amplifier. audiolaz finds those and says so.
Fix a bad speaker
It will tell you if your two differ. It cannot repair a driver.
Be right everywhere
A filter is exact at the seat and approximate elsewhere.

What does it actually change?
Bass does not arrive evenly where you sit: some notes swell, others disappear. The filter calms the ones that swell and leaves the ones that cancel alone. A good room changes little — judge it by switching the filter off and on at the same volume.
I only have a Nucleus or a ROCK.
Roon allows no third-party software on either, so audiolaz runs on another machine — a laptop, a NAS, a Raspberry Pi. It need not stay on: measure, build, load into Roon, switch it off.
Is a phone microphone good enough?
For the bass, where rooms do most of their damage, yes. Higher up it varies by model, so audiolaz corrects more cautiously with one. A calibrated UMIK costs less than most cables.
What happens to my measurements?
They stay on your machine. The only thing that ever leaves is your licence key, once, when you activate.
Does it work outside Roon?
The filter is an ordinary convolution file, so it loads anywhere. But today audiolaz drives Roon specifically. Other players are planned.
And if I do not like it?
Switch the filter off in Roon and the original sound comes back. Or ask for a refund within 14 days.
